By now you're probably getting ready for (and/or dreading) your return to Miami. Don't forget that your FIRST practice of the Spring Semester will be on Wednesday January 16th from 8-9:30pm in the ballrooms. Joelle will also be working on preparing for elections. All positions MUST be filled for Miami Motion to continue...

Hello Everyone!

 Sorry it's been a while since I updated last. Just wanted to catch everyone up on some reason Miami Motion news.

 First, we only have one week of class left before auditions. We have class on both Monday and Wednesday from 7-8:30p.

Auditions are Sunday, November 4th from 11a-1pm in the

Wellness Center Multi-A

There is no preparation needed and EVERYONE is invited to participate. In the classes following auditions we will begin working on competition material for the Spring-semester competition season.

We are currently accepting t-shirt design suggestions. Please submit your designs to mmdt.studorg@miami.edu and we will review them in class! There are no requirements or restrictions. Be creative!

 If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

 Thank you to those of you who have or are planning on attending our trial classes! We hope that you'll stick with us and help make Miami Motion a great team!

 Our first general member practice will be held on Wednesday, September 19th in UC Ballroom B

To be considered an active member you must attend 75% (or 3 out of every 4) practices.

Our first general member meeting will be announced soon.

 Also, E-Board positions are still available! Please see the "Trial Class Handout" on our Forms and Flyers page for more information.

Welcome Back!

Now that Miami Motion is in full swing, we'd like to invite you to join us in a few trial classes that will give you a chance to learn what our team is about. You may have seen us perform or hand out flyers at Canefest, if you're interested in learning more about our group, please join us:

Wednesday, September 5th UC Ballroom D 7-8:30pm

AND/OR

Monday, September 10th UC Ballroom C 7-8:30pm

There's no commitment necessary, however, if you are going to join the trial classes please send us an email letting us know! We would like to keep a headcount.

It is important that you also join us on these dates as they will be considered our first practices. Practices will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm in one of the four UC Ballrooms. Specific locations will be released during the trial classes. If there are any scheduling conflicts, please let us know!

Hello Everyone,

For those who are interested in performing with us at Canefest, our practice schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, August 7th 3pm-5pm
Thursday, August 9th 5pm-8pm (tentatively)
Thursday,August 16th 5-8pm
Sunday,August 19th 5-8pm

Locations of the practices will be sent at a later date.

If you are definitely performing with us, please let us know by August 1st.


Performance Information:
Canefest will be held on Tuesday, August 21st from 5pm-8pm. We will be performing a jazz routine. We will wear black jazz pants and a red top for the performance. Black jazz shoes are preferable.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask! We hope you are all enjoying your summer and we look forward to seeing you in the Fall!

Hello Everyone!

After almost a year of meetings with COSO (Committee on Student Organizations) our brand new dance team was approved in May! As you know, our team is formatted very differently than other teams on campus. We hope to create opportunities for dancers who have been more technically trained in areas such as ballet, tap, jazz, musical theater and broadway jazz.

Recently, we have been asked to perform at Canefest to showcase our new team. We are very excited as this will be our first chance to show what we're about. We will also have our own table display at the fest. If you're interested in performing or working the display (or both) please contact us a.s.a.p! Canefest is August 21st.

(Out-of-towners: Please note, practices for the performance will be held within the two weeks prior to Canefest. Exact dates have not yet been determined but if you would like to join us, it is mandatory that you are in town to attend those practices!)

Other than Canefest, Miami Motion activity will not pick up again until September. Our first order of business will be to organize and hold elections. If anyone is interesting in filling a position on...
